Abstract
Clobetasol propionate is part of a group of drugs known as glucocorticoids, which are a type of corticosteroid (or “steroid” for short). Although glucocorticoids have numerous effects in the body, they are used mostly for their anti-inflammatory or immune-suppressing properties. Clobetasol propionate works for most conditions by decreasing inflammation or suppressing an overactive immune system.Clobetasol propionate is a corticosteroid of synthetic steroid used to treat various skin disorders including inflammation, itching, herpes labialis, eczema, psoriasis and lichen sclerosus.Clobetasol propionate is also highly effective for contact dermatitis caused by exposure to poison ivy/oak and auto-immune diseases including alopecia areata, vitiligo, lichen planus (auto immune skin nodules), and mycosis fungoides (T-cell skin lymphoma).
Clobetasol propionate is used as first-line treatment for both acute and chronic GVHD of the skin.

Clobetasol belongs to a class of drugs called topical corticosteroids. A class of drugs is a group of medications that work in a similar way. These drugs are often used to treat similar conditions.
Clobetasol works by decreasing your body’s response to inflammation. It also reduces the activity of your immune system. This prevents inflammation and itching and treats your skin condition.
