Description
Minoxidil is a potassium channel agonist. It contains the chemical structure of nitric oxide, a vasodilator, and may be a nitric oxide agonist. This may seem to explain its vasodilation, but it may also be related to the ability of minoxidil to stimulate hair growth and treat hair loss. Since minoxidil is a compound associated with nitric oxide, it is suspected to act by activating a guanylate cyclase, an enzyme involved in vasodilation.
Minoxidil is a vasodilator known for its ability to slow or prevent hair loss and promote hair regeneration. In the treatment of androgenetic alopecia and other baldness treatments, it can be bought on the counter, but within a few months after stopping treatment, the measurable changes disappear. Its effectiveness has been proven in young men (18 to 41 years old), the younger the better, as well as in bald men in the scalp center (apex)
